Why Lincoln First
This campaign was developed by the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce and the Lincoln Partnership for Economic Development in response to the estimated $3 - $4 billion annual business that was being lost to companies outside of the area, and outside of our state. The campaign exists to encourage all area businesses to consider buying from local businesses before buying out-of-area.
Bringing just 5% of out-of-area business spending back home could add up to $479,452.05 per day to Lincoln's economy. The shift could enrich our tax base, to enhance:
- Encourage economic growth by circulating more dollars in our community
- Support and strengthen local jobs and businesses
- Preserve and enhance our unique quality of life
- Attract new business and create more jobs.
